User Guide
Uploading Data
Once you have photometry data, the first step is to populate the data table. If the photometry was measured using Skynet's Afterglow, the resulting CSV can be uploaded by clicking the Upload Data File button. Otherwise, the data can be entered manually. The table allows for pasting values from CSVs that are already formatted into columns.
Selecting the Models
There are two temporal model options: power law and exponential. There are two spectral models: Power Law and Extinguished Power Law. Selecting the Extinguished Power Law model will enable the reddening parameter, E(B - V). Both the temporal and spectral models can be changed at any time.
Setting the Required Parameters
There are three required parameters: the event time, the reference time, and the reference filter. The reference magnitude is a free parameter and will be modeled based on the photometry and the reference time and filter. The value for the reference time should be entered in MJD.
Fit the Data
There are two fitting options: manual and auto. The manual fitting allows the user to adjust the sliders as well as enter the values into their corresponding entry form. Manual fitting is primarily for education purposes and visualizing how each parameter modifies the fit. The auto fit option should be used for scientific and professional purposes. The fitting parameter values will be auto populated with the best fit values after auto fitting.
